Air Quality is a top priority for the West Jefferson County Community Task Force.
Since July 1998 state Sen. Gerald Neal has led efforts to secure more than $1 million from the General Assembly on behalf of the West Louisville Air Toxics Study (WLATS).
An Air Quality Lab in the University of Louisville’s Speed School of Engineering was established. Lab chemist John Metaxes monitored air at sites around the county.
The WJCCTF is pleased to present a large database of information from those tests. Search by site, date range and by specific chemicals.
Currently, no air monitoring program is active. The funding and lab testing has been suspended by the University of Louisville.
